“Innovation propels aviation and for it to face up to tomorrow’s challenges it needs an open and diverse workforce that can bring fresh ideas and ways of working.
“Our Reach for the Sky Challenge Fund recipients will be key to that, inspiring the next generation into the sector and helping to build an aviation workforce fit for the future.”
Transport Secretary Mark Harper
About
The Reach for the Sky Challenge fund was announced by the Aviation Minister in July 2022, as a way of funding outreach programmes and events to educate young people from all backgrounds on the opportunities on offer in aviation.
The Reach for the Sky programme’s core objectives:
- Raising the profile of the aviation industry to inspire the next generation.
- Enhancing awareness of the opportunities in the aviation industry by showcasing clear career pathways.
- Ensuring skills and training is inclusive and accessible to everyone.
- Working in partnership to make the UK the best place in the world for aviation.
The Reach for the Sky programme is the outreach branch of the Generation Aviation campaign – a joint project between HM Government and industry that aims to raise the profile of aviation careers and remove barriers to access, so the sector can build a workforce fit for the future.
